Panoramic view

A fine small settlement, with 48 people, Epano Karouziana lies at an altitude of 380m and is located at 40km from Herakleion. It is mentioned for the first time in 1842, its name taken by a family name common in the village; Karzano.

This village offers a spectacular view, graphic little lanes, traditional kafeneia and taverns and is a popular tourist destination, especially in the summer where many Kritikes Vradies (Cretan evenings) are organized with local music and dance.
