Scenery Routes-Walking Paths
The geological features of Kastelli Municipality offer the opportunity of exploring unspoiled picturesque villages, whilst the wood and highland conceal a wealth of our natural heritage, a variety of flora and fauna, and dramatic scenery.
However, most of the paths proposed here are still officially unexploited, which, on the one hand, adds to their charm as you will meet with unique beauty and experiences, but on the other hand the lack of path markings can make your journey more difficult, therefore it is always wise to ask the locals for directions.
Be prepared and take plenty of water. Remember that spring and autumn are the best times for walking and the summer sun can be fierce. Winter walking can also be an excellent way to see Crete. Mostly one-day walks, they vary in length and difficulty, but all offer idyllic walking through some of Kastelli's finest countryside.
