Municipal Administration

The municipality operates through its Mayor, three Vice Mayors and the Municipal Council which comprises 15 members.   

Municipal council

The municipal council establishes goals and guidelines for the overall work of the municipality. It decides for any matter related to the work of the municipality except for those that are under the jurisdiction of the mayor or the municipal committee. The municipal council comprises 17 elected members, 10 from the governing party and 7 from the opposition.   

Local Councils

Local Councils are responsible for the management of  local affairs within the borders of their administrative departments.
There are three 5 member local councils; in Apostoli, Evagelismos and Kastamonitsa and ten with three members each; in Amariano, Aski, Archagelos Geraki, Karouzana, Liliano, Lyttos, Mathia, Polythea and Smari.
